Vets4Pets | DogFest 2017
For Vets4Pets’ headline sponsorship of DogFest 2017 we wanted to create a stand with impact, where human visitors could have fun and relax while their dogs received a free health check by veterinary professionals. DogFest is exactly what it sounds like, a festival for dogs! Hosted by Channel 4’s Supervet, Noel Fitzpatrick, the DogFest North was at Arley Hall, Cheshire on 17-18 June and DogFest South at Knebworth Hall, Hertfordshire on 24-25 June.
We branded two containers; one we filled with free activities for human visitors like face painting, beat the buzz wire game, face in the hole photo board and quizzes on iPads, and in the other we set up two mobile consulting areas so every dog could get a ‘nose to tail’ health check from a Vets4Pets vet or vet nurse. We also offered free microchip checks and first aid workshops on the stand plus a viewing platform, which provided great views of the festival and Noel’s on-stage talks throughout the weekend.
We created a space where visitors were able to come and relax with their dogs during the show, and made sure there were plenty of Vets4Pets nurses and vets on hand to answer questions and provide advice on pet care.
The sun shone down on us during both weekends and we welcomed lots of dogs to our stand, many using our water station, some looking for cuddles and others enjoying a cooling splash in our doggy pool. Visitors learnt a lot from our first aid workshops (such as how to create an emergency bandage using just tissues and a poo bag!) and all dogs took away a free chew or two.
In addition to the creation and delivery of the activation, we also planned and delivered an engaging social media strategy in the lead up to, and during, the events to grow and continue the conversation beyond the event site itself.
